Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has indicated a desire for an early resolution with the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
He added that the OSP had requested a meeting in June after removing him from the wanted list as part of an ongoing investigation.
The investigation focusses on a variety of financial transactions, including the Strategic Mobilization-GRA contract, the termination of the ECG-BXC contract, payments to the National Cathedral, ambulance procurement, and the usage of the Tax Refund Account.
However, in a letter issued through his lawyers, Mr. Ofori-Atta emphasised the importance of engaging his legal representation ahead of the planned deadline in order to resolve the case as quickly as possible.
“I pray that the Special Prosecutor will agree to meet with my legal team so we can respond to his investigation, on the now five cases, in order to resolve the situation expeditiously, and well before the June appointment,” he told me.
He also accepted the legislative apology for the security raid on his home and the Special Prosecutor’s decision to withdraw the wanted notice against him.
