Nsoatreman banned from home venue following violence in Kotoko clash

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken swift action by banning Nsoatreman FC from using the Nana Koramansah Park as their home venue.

This decision follows the violent incidents that erupted during their Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 fixture against Asante Kotoko, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Nsoatreman but was marred by chaos, injuries, and the tragic loss of life.

In response, the GFA has invoked Article 14(2) of the Premier League Regulations, enforcing an indefinite ban on Nsoatreman’s home venue to ensure the safety of all stakeholders while investigations are carried out.

Additionally, the GFA has assigned its Security Committee, led by DCOP Lydia Donkor, alongside FA Prosecutors, to gather all necessary evidence, including match reports and relevant documentation, for submission to the Disciplinary Committee.

The Ghana Police Service has also been engaged to conduct a full-scale investigation into the incident, with a directive to identify, arrest, and prosecute all individuals responsible for the violence.

The GFA reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy for violence, intimidation, and hooliganism in Ghana football, warning that severe sanctions will be imposed on any club, official, or supporter found culpable.

Further updates on the investigation and disciplinary actions will be communicated in due course
