Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central and a presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged the rank and file of the party to prepare well and organize properly in order to win the trust of the Ghanaian people in the general elections of 2024. These elections are scheduled to take place in Ghana.

The lawmaker emphasized that, at the end of the day, if the NPP gets its house in order, it will give the electorate a choice that will allow them to make a decision that is both better and more effective.

Kennedy Agyapong also emphasized that the National Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot afford to cede political power to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), because the NDC would “be worse and scarier to the prospects of the country” if they were in control of the government.

The lawmaker for Assin Central’s constituency has therefore given the NPP the advice that it should not lose time on the political gimmicks of the NDC national leadership and instead concentrate on the general election in 2024.

Kennedy Agyapong maintained that the NDC’s new crop of leaders, particularly party Chairman Asiedu Nketiah and General Secretary Fiifi Kwetey, is a sign that the opposition party is preparing to turn the 2024 election campaign into a campaign of insults and propaganda. He was referring to the fact that Nketiah and Kwetey were elected to their positions.

Kennedy Agyapong recalled how these same people had fabricated documents and assigned money in false bank accounts for him and other NPP stalwarts prior to the 2008 general election as a ploy to hoodwink Ghanaians into believing that members of the then-ruling government were misappropriating state resources for themselves.

This was done in an effort to hoodwink Ghanaians into believing that members of the ruling government were misusing state resources for their own benefit.

Kennedy Agyapong emphasized that despite the fact that those claims were not genuine, a large number of Ghanaians believed them, which impacted the electoral prospects of the NPP.

As a consequence of this, he has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to prepare methods to refute any claims of this nature raised by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Commendation

Kennedy Agyapong lauded the efforts of the national officers of the NPP to unite the party and the government behind a shared goal, and he expressed gratitude for such efforts.

Kennedy Agyapong emphasized the significance of close ties between the party and the administration in order to ensure unity in order to “break the eight-year cycle of governance,” and he said that discord might damage their front line.

According to him, it makes it possible for government officials and other officials to communicate with one another during the process of putting policies and programs into effect.

Kennedy Agyapong pledged his support to whoever is elected as the party’s flagbearer and urged others to do the same, stating that unity would be the key to the party’s success in the 2024 elections.

Kennedy Agyapong said that it would not be out of place to commend the citizens, particularly party faithful’s, and indeed all stakeholders for the various roles they have all played since the beginning of the Fourth Republic to entrench the country’s democracy.

This is happening as the NPP continues to make its democracy stronger and enjoy the benefits of that.
