The fact that thousands of Netflix subscribers reported having trouble accessing the service on linked TV devices on Monday is an indication that the apps were encountering difficulties connecting to the online network.
According to Downdetector, an internet monitoring website, the number of error reports for Netflix started to increase at approximately 5:52 p.m. Eastern Time. According to Downdetector, as of 6:22 p.m. Eastern Time, there were more than 17,000 reports of errors for Netflix.
An official from Netflix sent a statement to Variety, saying, “We are deeply sorry to inform you that we are experiencing unforeseen technical issues with the platform for some of our members.” We will keep you updated on the progress of our engineers as they try to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
Netflix Down? Users Report Network Connection Errors With Connected TV Devices
At approximately eight o’clock ET, it seemed as though the problem had been fixed. In a post on X, a user explained the issue as follows: “When you try to play something, the device you’re on (like a television) thinks you have no internet connection, so it makes you take a test to determine your internet speed, and even though you pass it, it loops and wants you to restart the router, etc.”
Although it is not entirely apparent how widespread the problems with Netflix playback were, viewers in a number of different countries have reported experiencing difficulties. Because of this, it is currently uncertain what caused the issues.
The application appeared to become stuck in a loop in which it was testing the network connection and certifying the user’s broadband connection speed, as evidenced by photographs that users of Netflix shared on social media platforms. The platform help center suggests either restarting your device or attempting to log out and then attempting to sign in again. This recommendation is based on the error code that was displayed on the screens that people were posting (“tvq-pb-101”).
There are times when Netflix, just like any other internet provider, encounters technical issues. Earlier this year, the company’s livestream of the reunion for the popular dating show “Love Is Blind” had significant delays. According to Netflix, this malfunction was caused by a flaw in its system that was accidentally introduced when the technical team attempted to make adjustments to increase speed.
