According to Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, the presidential advisor on health, hospital projects left undone by the previous Mahama administration have been completed by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Friday, July 26 at the Accra Digital Center during the second Badwam Sectorial Debate on Adom TV, Dr. Nsiah-Asare pointed out that the NDC had started seven hospital projects but had only finished one.

He underlined that the NPP administration finished these initiatives, including adding more lodging options in Sekondi, using the GHS38.8 million that was left over.

He also brought up the fact that the NPP government finished and put the Bekwai Hospital into service in November 2020, despite it being declared complete in the NDC’s “green book.”

“The NDC government was not able to complete two hospitals in the Ashanti region – the 120-bed facility in Fomena, Kumawu, and Dodowa. Out of the 7 hospital projects initiated by the NDC, only one was completed.

The remaining 38.8 million from the allocated funds was used to complete the Fomena, Kumawu, and Sekondi accommodation projects. The NDC included Bekwai Hospital as a completed project in their green book, but it wasn’t finished.

The NPP government has constructed 17 isolation centers, some of which are already completed, in preparation for any future emergencies,” Dr Nsiah-Asare added.
