Despite requests from Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, one of the candidates for flagbearer, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not postpone its primary elections scheduled for this Saturday, according to Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC.

According to Mr. Gbande, the campaign staff of the former Finance Minister is trying to create a false impression about the authenticity of the primaries that will take place on May 13th.

Concerns were voiced in a letter that Kwabena Duffuor’s team sent to the General Secretary of the NDC about the delegate register that was rumored to be faulty and incomplete and that was going to be utilized for the primaries.

However, Mr. Gbande stated that the “claims in the letter are untrue” during an interview that was broadcast on Eyewitness News on Citi FM. He also stated that the reports that the “party hasn’t provided him a response are incorrect and untrue.”

He did, however, add that the leadership of the party is committed to resolving any complaints voiced by any contestant in the race or party member in order to maintain the credibility and fairness of the primary elections.

“The leadership is dedicated to finding a solution to every problem that has been brought up so that we can have a credible election.”

We are dedicated to conducting credible elections that cannot be called into question, and the mechanisms that will be used to conduct them are sufficiently transparent and clean. The credibility of these elections cannot be called into question.

Mr. Gbande continued by stating that the party is adhering to each and every condition outlined in its constitution in order to guarantee that both the presidential and parliamentary primaries will be free and fair.

“We have standards to uphold, and we are conducting our business in accordance with those standards.” All of the candidates are aware that the procedure is reliable and provides an adequate level of assurance.
