Kennedy Boakye Ansah, the Brands Manager of Nations Football Club, believes ‘running football in Ghana’ is not worth the cost after his team was involved in pandemonium in the Ghana Premier League over the weekend.

Nations FC stormed off the ground during their key game against Holy Stars after their opponents received a second disputed penalty.

Tension reached a climax in the 33rd minute, when Holy Stars were granted their second penalty of the day, causing indignation among Nations FC players and coaching staff.

The club later issued a statement explaining the reasoning behind their actions.

Speaking on 3FM, Boakye Ansah said that the club is considering returning to the top flight, adding that they will submit an official protest with the Ghana Football Association.

“We might disband Nations FC and stop running football in this country because it isn’t worth it.” Whatever we witnessed and experienced today was not worthwhile. “We may have to advise ourselves,” he remarked.

“It depends on the match commissioner’s report, but we will file an official complaint with the GFA and await the FA’s decision. We are no longer interested in Ghana football. “We’re tired.”

The match, hosted at the Ampain AAK II Arena, was crucial for Kassim Mingle’s team, which needed at least a draw to keep their title aspirations alive with only one round of matches remaining.
