Veteran singer Mzbel has joined Icetee Records in introducing and signing their new artist, Kweku Shai, with a traditional oath-taking ritual including schnapps and eggs.
Mzbel and the record label executives dressed in traditional Ga regalia for the signing ceremony, when they swore an oath to follow the contract’s provisions.
Speaking about the ritual’s significance, Mzbel emphasized the importance of commitment and devotion in the music industry, particularly during widespread betrayal.
“We will swear before the gods that we will all keep our end of the bargain. “For the money we invest, we expect the same energy, ideas, and time to be returned to the brand,” she remarked.
Mzbel has previously voiced unhappiness with artists she assisted who later abandoned her, so her oath-taking is a calculated measure to enforce accountability.
The official contract was signed after the event, formally establishing Kweku Shai’s association with Icetee Records.
