Megan Thee Stallion Testifies Tory Lanez Shot Her
In an emotional courtroom statement, Megan Thee Stallion detailed her “horror” when fellow rapper Tory Lanez reportedly opened fire on her. Megan Thee Stallion was the target of the alleged shooting.
She expressed her disbelief before the Los Angeles jury by saying, “I can’t believe I have to come here and do this.”
After leaving a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s house, the rapper who won a Grammy said that someone shot her in the feet as she was leaving.
The prosecution told the jury that the defendant shot five rounds at the victim after she insulted him and asked to be let out of a luxury SUV.
The 27-year-old rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete, testified that the alleged attacker grew upset when she disparaged his musical abilities. Megan Pete is the rapper’s true name.
She said that the 30-year-old defendant, whose actual name is Daystar Peterson, had urged her to “dance” before opening fire on her during the event that occurred on July 12, 2020 in the Hollywood Hills.
In connection with a disagreement with the Savage artist, he denies various allegations, including those about guns and violence. Should he be proven guilty, he may be sentenced to as much as 23 years in jail.
“I can’t believe it. I’m afraid. She reportedly testified on Tuesday, the second day of the trial, telling the court, “I hear the pistol going off, and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me.” The LA Times said that she was referring to the defendant.
While on the witness stand, she was overcome with emotion and expressed her remorse for ever having spoken out about what had happened.
She stated in front of the judge that if she had known she would be subjected to such cruel and unusual punishment, she would have wished for her own death rather than have to go through it.
Before getting back into the vehicle, the WAP rapper left a trail of blood at the site. Minutes later, law enforcement officers found the vehicle and pulled it over.
The prosecution’s Alexander Bott stated in his opening statement that a gun that could be felt to still be warm from being fired was discovered on the floor next to where Mr. Peterson had been seated.
Megan Thee Stallion testified that a Canadian hip-hop artist had promised her one million dollars to keep quiet about the attack because he claimed to be on probation for a firearms offense. Megan Thee Stallion said that the artist was on probation when the offer was made.
At first, she told the authorities that she had injured her feet while walking on glass.
But on Tuesday, she admitted to the court that she had lied because she was afraid of how the police would react, particularly in the midst of countrywide turmoil about racial justice in the summer of 2020.
In her testimony, she stated, “At the time, we were at the height of police brutality.” I felt that if I claimed that this man had just shot me, they might fire first and ask questions afterwards. “At the time, we were at the height of police brutality.”
A female acquaintance who was riding along in the car at the time of the shooting sent a text message to Megan Thee Stallion’s security detail, stating, “Help. Meg was shot by Tory.”
She informed the investigating police that she had trouble walking in certain shoes, and several bullet pieces were removed from her feet, although some of them remain. She also said that she had difficulty walking in certain shoes.
Authorities say that in a phone conversation, Mr. Peterson “profusely apologized for his actions” and said that he was “simply too drunk” at the time of the incident.
His attorney, George Mgdesyan, urged the jurors to have an open mind and assured them that he would demonstrate that the claims were false. The trial is still going on.
