President John Dramani Mahama has formed a Constitutional Review Committee to help implement the Constitutional Review Process.
Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh chairs the committee, which includes eight members with renowned experience, including Justice Sophia Adinyirah, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, Dr. Godwin Djokoto, and Dr. Ibrahim Tanko Amidu.
Its responsibilities include identifying gaps and issues in past constitutional review initiatives, such as the 2010 and 2023 processes.
In addition, the committee will consult with stakeholders to gain feedback on proposed revisions to the 1992 Constitution and make practical recommendations to improve Ghana’s democratic governance.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to hiring experienced people to guarantee that the process is efficient and transparent.
The group is expected to provide recommendations to the government within five months.
