President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed that the findings of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee will be given to appropriate investigative agencies to investigate persons suspected of misappropriating state money.
He revealed that the committee plans to present its report next week.
During his ‘Thank You’ trip of the Central Region on Thursday, February 6, Mahama emphasized his administration’s commitment to combating corruption, both inside his government and in the previous administration.
He assured Ghanaians that his government will serve the interests of all citizens, not just a select few, and emphasized the importance of accountability in his leadership.
“Next week, the ORAL committee that I formed will give its report to me. And I will refer it to investigative organizations so that they can begin their investigations against those who have misused the nation’s resources,” he said.
Mahama also restated promises to establish a strong accountability structure and a code of conduct for those in positions of trust. He emphasized that his administration will hold all previous and present officials to the same high ethical standards.
“Even as we investigate those who have just left office, and we carry out our Operation Recover All Loot, those who are current office bearers should also know that they will be held to the same standard as we are holding the past regime,” said the politician.
Mahama’s words buttress his position on good governance and his promise to increase institutional supervision in the battle against corruption.
