Mahama nominates 33 DCEs in Eastern region

According to Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 33 people for the Eastern Region’s District Chief Executive (DCE) position.

The statement, made on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, reflects Mahama’s dedication to bolstering local governance and guaranteeing efficient leadership at the district level.

The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs released the names of the nominees, who come from various backgrounds.

Among the notable candidates are Ernest Owusu Ntim for Atiwa East, Moses Tangmee for Kwahu Afram Plains South, and Kate Mawusi Babanawo for Kwahu Afram Plains North.

The appropriate District Assemblies must approve these appointments.
