Main opposition leader and former president John Dramani Mahama (NDC) is on track to win the presidential election in December.

According to the most recent opinion survey released Monday by Global InfoAnalytics, an Accra-based research firm.

JM maintains his advantage against the ruling party’s candidate, incumbent Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (NPP), Movement for Change leader Alan Kwaddwo Kyerematen, and New Force leader Nana Kwame Bediako.

The poll shows John Dramani with 52% support, followed by Dr. Bawumia with 41.3%. Support for the other candidates is still below 5%.

In the swing areas of Central, Western, and Greater Accra, Mahama has 59.4% support, while Dr. Bawumia has 33.8%.

According to the study, although 98% of NDC voters expect to vote for Mahama, just 95% of NPP voters plan to vote for Dr Bawumia. This could imply a lack of unity within the ruling party.

According to the study, respondents are most concerned about the economy, jobs, and education. More than half (51%) of respondents feel their economic position has gotten worse than last year.

Both Mahama and Dr. Bawumia have laid out measures to develop the economy and enhance citizens’ livelihoods.

However, more respondents (52.5%) believe Mahama is more capable, experienced, and qualified to handle the current economic crisis than Dr. Bawumia (41.7%).

The poll was held between November 4 and 8, 2024, and had a margin of error of 1.9%.
