Kwesi Appiah, the head coach of Sudan, called Ghana’s loss to his team in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers unfortunate.

In the fourth round of the qualifiers, the Falcons of Jediane defeated the Black Stars 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi, Libya.

“Unfortunately, only one team can advance,” the former Ghana coach said after the game, expressing his compassion for his home country.

It is unfortunate for Ghana. Although Ghana has a strong team, Kwesi Appiah lamented that just one of us could advance.

“I’m happy we were able to make Sudanese people smile.”

With two points from four games, Ghana is currently in third place in Group F and faces the possibility of missing out on AFCON qualification for the first time in 20 years.

The Black Stars’ final two qualification matches against Niger and Angola will take place during the November international break.
