BREAKING: Bayern strike £10M deal to appoint Kompany as new coach

According to Simon Stone of BBC Sport, Bayern Munich and Burnley have come to an agreement for Vincent Kompany to become their next head coach.

Burnley, who will play in the Championship, will receive £10.2 million from the Bundesliga team as compensation.

Stone continues, “Kompany has agreed in principle to a contract that will keep him at Bayern until 2027.

After two seasons in charge of Burnley’s elevation to the Premier League in 2023 and their prompt relegation to the second tier this past season, the Belgian coach is leaving the club.

Craig Bellamy isn’t anticipated to be a member of the 38-year-old’s coaching staff, but assistants Floribert Ngalula and Bram Geers will join Kompany in Germany.

The Belgian was one of a handful of candidates that Bayern were linked with after announcing Thomas Tuchel would leave at the end of the season. The club reportedly failed to sign its top targets and tried to convince Tuchel to stay before landing Kompany
