Former Assin Central MP and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will formally submit his nomination forms for the party’s 2026 presidential primaries on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the NPP headquarters in Accra.
This was confirmed by Nhyiaeso MP and part of his campaign team, Stephen Amoah, who stated that Mr. Agyapong will personally lead his team in filing the forms.
Kennedy Agyapong was the first candidate to pick up nomination forms for the January 31, 2026, primaries, after a group of NPP MPs, including Kwaku Kwarteng (Obuasi West), Charles Forson (Tema West), Stephen Amoah (Nhyiaeso), and Lawrence Agyinsam (Hemang Lower Denkyira), collected them on his behalf on August 5.
He joins the race as one of the frontrunners, having finished second to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s 2024 flagbearer contest.
