Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has reiterated his dedication to his cause, despite a US court verdict ordering him to pay $18 million in damages to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas for defamation.

Kennedy Agyapong addressed his supporters at his campaign office in Shiashie, Accra, upon his return to Ghana on Thursday, March 27, thanking them for their unfailing encouragement and promising to continue his battle for truth and justice.

“I am grateful for the kind welcome you have given me and my wife. This encouragement reaffirms my resolve to continue advocating for the voiceless,” he said.

Mr Agyapong, known for his outspokenness, remained defiant, claiming that the court judgment would not muzzle him.

“There’s no need to worry. Anyone who tells the truth and advocates for the voiceless will meet opposition. But this hardship has made me a better person, and I will continue to fight for the truth,” he said.

He also pledged to respond to the verdict in detail at the appropriate moment, urging his people to remain steadfast.
