Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States of America, has stated that it is her intention to strengthen the partnership that her country has with Ghana as well as with other countries on the African continent.

This was the first thing she said after touching down at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra to start her trip across Africa.

Kamala Harris claims that the purpose of the gathering is to have conversations that will lead to the creation of opportunities in a variety of fields across the continent.

During her very first address, Senator Kamala Harris emphasized the critical role that Africa plays in the ongoing discussions regarding the state of global development.

“I intend to do work that is particularly focused on increasing investments here on the continent and facilitating economic growth and opportunity, specifically in the areas of economic empowerment of women and girls, while I am on this trip.

On Sunday, she made a statement in which she emphasized the importance of “empowerment of youth entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, and supporting the work that must be done to increase food security, including adaptation to the effects of the climate crisis.”

It was stated by Madam Harris that she was looking forward to meeting the various heads of state in order to “build on the previous meetings I have had with each of them to strengthen democracy and good governance, promote peace and security, build on long-term economic growth, and strengthen our business ties.”

“I also look forward to meeting with entrepreneurs and artists, as well as students and farmers, during this visit to witness firsthand the extraordinary innovation and creativity that is occurring on this continent and inspiring people all over the world,” she stated. “It is my hope that by doing so, I will be able to share my excitement with others.”

On Sunday, March 26, 2023, Kamala Harris, who is currently serving as the Vice President of the United States, arrived in Accra.
