Former Ghana international Awudu Issaka has admitted to using black magic during his spell at German club 1860 Munich in an attempt to gain more playing time.

On Monday, July 28, Issaka told Accra-based Sporty FM that he previously sacrificed a cow and paid a spiritualist to spiritually harm German football icon Thomas Häßler, who was a major member of the team.

“I did all sorts of things to destroy my teammate, including killing a cow,” he told me. “When I went back to the team, he was closer to me than before, so I knew it was working.”

Issaka claimed Häßler then told him he wouldn’t get any playing time since the club would not bench a German international. Häßler even advised Issaka to transfer to another club in order to secure more playing time.

“After that, I called the person performing the invocation for me, and he stated it was effective. He asked for more money, and I sent it. “I even did another one when cows were expensive,” he explained. “Because I didn’t listen to Häßler and stayed, he kept playing, and my career ended.”

Issaka now regrets his conduct and advises current athletes to shun spiritual shortcuts.

“I would advise footballers to avoid using spiritual spells [juju] to succeed as players, as this approach is unlikely to lead to positive outcomes,” the commentator stated.

Since retiring, the former U-17 World Cup star has established a football academy to mentor future players while instilling values of hard work and ethics.
