The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Hearts of Oak’s coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, with failing to attend the customary post-match press conference after his team’s 1-0 loss to Dreams FC on Saturday.
The Phobians were unable to recover from an early goal by Abdul Razak, and suffered their first league defeat in seven games. This was also their first loss in 2025, following a streak of five victories and two ties.
Hearts of Oak suffered their first league defeat since losing to rivals Asante Kotoko in the Super Clash in December 2024.
As a result of the loss, the GFA has charged coach Ouattara with failing to attend the post-match news conference, stating that his actions were purposeful and against the regulations. The GFA has stated that such conduct throws the sport into disrepute.
Ouattara was given until Tuesday, March 18, to respond to the charges.
This comes just a week after Hearts of Oak were charged with violating safety protocols upon the league’s return.
After losing to Dreams FC, Hearts of Oak remains in third place with 36 points, two points behind league leader Asante Kotoko.
Hearts fail to capitalise on Kotoko’s slip
A win over Dreams FC would have propelled the Phobians ahead of league leaders Asante Kotoko, who were held to a one-all tie.
Earlier on Saturday, defending champions FC Samartex 1996 prevented the Porcupine Warriors from taking all three points.
Awuah Dramani scored the scoring for the home side in the 38th minute, but Kwame Poku equalised in the 46th minute.
However, the Porcupine Warriors remain in first place with 38 points as Hearts of Oak were unable to defeat Dreams FC later on Saturday.
