There have apparently been two deaths in Saudi Arabia from various health issues involving Hajj pilgrims from Ghana.

The two deceased individuals, who were supposedly from Damongo in the Savannah region, died on different days: Sunday, June 9, and Wednesday, June 12.

Ben Abdallah Banda, the Chairman of the Ghana Hajj Board, acknowledged the fatalities and said the deceased were buried according to Islamic tradition.

In the meantime, he declared that on Wednesday, while performing the Hajj in the Holy City of Mecca, a female pilgrim from Ghana also delivered birth.

“Everything is going well thus far, but two pilgrims sadly lost their lives. Among our pilgrim women, one has also given birth to a healthy baby,” he said.

According to Channel One News, more than 4,000 Ghanaian pilgrims are in Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj ritual.
