Reported release date for GTA 6
I regret to inform you that there won’t be a GTA VI release date anytime soon. The developer released an “it exists” statement in February 2022, which was the only formal declaration from Rockstar regarding Grand Theft Auto VI. Not a thing since then.
Some people on the internet, such as this Redditor, have investigated recent remarks made by CEO Strauss Zelnick of GTA publisher Take-Two Interactive. But thanks to Microsoft, next year is still possible. According to a July 2022 Bloomberg article by Jason Schreier, “current and former Rockstar staff” anticipated that GTA 6 would not ship for at least two years. Furthermore, in a letter to the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) during its then-ongoing acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft stated that “the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to be released in 2024.”
