Ghana loses a friendly match against Japan by a large margin

Ghana’s Black Stars were defeated 4-1 by Japan in the Kirin tournament on Friday, June 10, 2022.
After multiple setbacks in the squad, Coach Otto Addo fielded a reduced Black Stars lineup to face their opponents. Yamane connected on a defense-splitting pass from a teammate to give the Japanese the lead in the 29th minute.

Jordan Ayew drew Ghana equal in the 44th minute with a fantastic strike that ended his goal drought for the national team. The Black Stars’ goal was short-lived, as Mitoma scored on the stroke of halftime to make it 2-1 to the Japanese.

The Black Stars were unable to answer to the goal, and the Japanese went on to score another goal.
The Black Stars failed to respond to the goal, and the Japanese scored again in the 73rd minute when the Black Stars made a defensive error.

With an 84th-minute goal, Japan’s Maeda made it 4-1 and ended the Black Stars’ chances of a comeback. The Black Stars will now play Chile for third place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, as a result of their defeat.
