Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been elected to the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) executive committee.
Okraku was voted unopposed to a four-year term from 2025 to 2029, winning his spot on the 24-member decision-making council of African football’s governing organisation.
His selection reflects his leadership in Ghanaian football since taking office in 2019. Under his leadership, the GFA prioritised transparency, grassroots development, and the expansion of women’s and youth football.
Given Ghana’s strong football heritage, Okraku’s appointment to the CAF EXCO is likely to increase the country’s influence in African football policymaking and contribute to the sport’s overall development across the continent.
He becomes the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the CAF Executive Committee, succeeding Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi.
