Fuel prices to drop slightly from April 16

Fuel prices

Fuel prices are predicted to drop by 0.3% to GH₵15.50, while gasoline prices are predicted to drop by 1.5%, to GH₵14.88 a litre.

At GH17.45 per kilogramme, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will also get a 0.3% price cut.

Due to the persistent decline in crude oil prices, which have dropped from US$72 to US$64 per barrel, this is the fifth consecutive loss since February 2025.

Furthermore, the cost of completed petroleum products, such as LPG and diesel, has dropped internationally.

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has stated that other elements, such the price of insurance and replacement components, will still affect transport costs even with the anticipated drop in gasoline prices.

According to GPRTU leaders, transportation costs might only decrease if fuel prices hit GH₵12 per litre.

Following a downward trend in prices since February, the general drop in fuel prices may help lower the cost of living.
