Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, was reportedly arrested by national security agents at his Kumasi residence.
The arrest occurred on Sunday, June 29, 2025, following a request from the operators to talk with him. He was later transferred in a pickup truck to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, where he is still being held.
This comes after an earlier operation on May 15, in which security personnel attempted to retrieve state vehicles reportedly in his hands. Jumah wasn’t home at the time.
According to sources, the former MD is under investigation for alleged financial irregularities, including unauthorised asset sales and suspicious car acquisitions while at GIHOC.
