A final-year student at Wa T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School (Wa Amass) is critically injured after being stabbed during a campus dispute on Tuesday night.

According to eyewitnesses, the event occurred after a violent dispute between two final-year students: Iddrisu Ibrahim, better known as Lincoln, and his friend Hafis, also known as Baayaawa.

Lincoln, a Year 3 Agricultural Science student from Bulenga, allegedly took a video of Hafis without his permission.

Hafis, a Year 3 General Arts student from Bawku, confronted Lincoln, demanding that the video be removed. When Lincoln apparently refused, Hafis threatened to stab him. Witnesses said Lincoln rejected the threat and challenged him to carry it out.

The situation became violent when Hafis allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Lincoln in the rib and stomach area.

Hafis attempted to flee the scene following the attack, but word spread rapidly throughout campus. A number of students were apparently mobilised in an attempt to retaliate, but police arrived in time to stop the violence. Officers apprehended Hafis and detained him for questioning.

Despite his injuries, Lincoln staggered from the dormitory area to the school library before collapsing.

A female eyewitness recalled the scene: “When Lincoln emerged, the knife was still lodged in him. Some classmates removed it before taking him to the hospital.”

He is currently being treated at Wa Regional Hospital, where his status is classified as serious but stable.

Police investigations are ongoing. The school administrators have yet to publish an official statement, but security on campus has been strengthened to avoid additional incidents.
