Ernest Anim, the candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kumawu by-election, was successful in winning the contest.
Ernest Anim received 15,264 votes, which allowed him to win the election and defeat the candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwesi Amankwah, as well as the two other independent candidates.
Kwesi Amankwah received 3,723 votes, while Kwaku Duah (1) received 2,478 votes, and the other Kwaku Duah received 62 votes. Kwesi Amankwah was ultimately victorious.
