According to reports, Kofi Akpaloo, the head of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), was hauled up by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) from his Kumasi residence.
According to sources, EOCO‘s Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) from the Accra headquarters carried out the dawn operation in cooperation with the Ashanti Regional Office of the organisation.
Insiders said that the arrest went off without a hitch.
The suspect is reportedly in route to Accra, where he is anticipated to help detectives with ongoing investigations, however the precise circumstances surrounding the arrest are still unknown.
EOCO has not yet issued a formal comment regarding the situation.
