Best red carpet looks from the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards

The 2019 Oscar season is already formally underway. The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, the third major red-carpet event in as many days, kicked off at LA’s Peacock Theater on Monday, following the Golden Globes last week and the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday.

Numerous celebrities from previous ceremonies were present, and a few trends from those events persisted, including the return of the black-and-red fashion motif.

At the “Grey’s Anatomy” reunion, actress and producer Katherine Heigl stuck to a classic look by dressing in a red Reem Acra dress with a bob a la Marilyn Monroe. “Succession” star Sarah Snook also channeled old Hollywood glamour in an elegant poppy-colored Vivienne Westwood gown, while British actor and musician Suki Waterhouse showed off her baby bump in a bright red Valentino Haute Couture gown with strategically placed side cut-outs.

Those opting for elegant black outfits included Lizzy Caplan (in vintage Yohji Yamamoto), Christina Ricci (in plunging Saint Laurent) and Riley Keough (in Chanel). “The Bear” star Ayo Edebiri was, meanwhile, among the evening’s best-dressed in a black Louis Vuitton leather bustier gown with a structured balloon skirt.
