Dr. Kofi Amoah, an outspoken businessman, an economist, has expressed his displeasure with ministers who have declared their intent to leave the Akufo-Addo administration.
Dr. Amoah voiced his belief that the ministers’ actions reeked of self-centeredness in a series of tweets, especially in light of the fact that they are leaving the nation at a time when the economy is at its worst.
After the resignations of the ministers of agriculture and trade in recent weeks, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Alan Kyerematen, respectively, made their comments. In response to those resignations, he made the following.
The two quit concentrating on running for president as the NPP races to pick a new flagbearer ahead of the national elections in 2024.
In Kofi Amoah’s opinion, people who lack a sense of responsibility and are satisfied to leave their jobs when things go wrong in order to pursue their own glory are either traitors or opportunists and should not be trusted. He based his belief on the lack of loyalty displayed by these people.
“If he trades a damaged ship that is sinking for a ship that hasn’t even been built, and the ship they traded is one that hasn’t yet been damaged, then the captain is a traitor and a swindler who can’t be trusted. Ghana needs leaders who are willing to push through difficulties rather than those who give up when things get difficult. Please focus more on what they actually do rather than what they say they will do.”

Ghana needs captains who are eager and selfless to stay the course rather than the type to give up when things become tough.

Dr. Amoah stated the following in an interview with GhanaWeb: “The resignations of Cabinet Ministers to pursue their own objectives to become president must be thoroughly examined to figure out what they imply and how important they are.”
When the ship is absorbing water, it is not the proper time for fit captains to abandon the ship. To get their passengers to a safe place, it is now more important than ever for them to be enthusiastic and dedicated to their well-being.
When they were younger, people frequently showed more enthusiasm for becoming presidents than ministers or cabinet members. Did they take on these positions truly wanting to help the country, or did they do it because they wanted the money, power, and fame that would come with them if they were elected president?
In order to lessen the number of times they choose their leaders incorrectly, the Ghanaian people must start making better decisions.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and Alan Kyerematen both left their jobs.
Earlier this month, John Alan Kyerematen, who was Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Minister Addo’s of Trade and Industry, announced his resignation.
The former diplomat’s letter of resignation was dated January 5, 2023.
It is commonly considered that Alan will be a serious contender to succeed the New Patriotic Party leader, who is now in that post (NPP).
Others include Kwabena Agyapong, who was formerly the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, and Congressman Kennedy Agyapong from Assin Central.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto left his post as minister of food and agriculture three days after Alan left his position in the administration.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has been the minister of food and agriculture for the last six years before his appointment in 2017.
Dr. Akoto was in charge of the government’s flagship Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) initiative, and he was in charge of its creation and execution. In order to help the country’s agricultural sector, which had been on the decline in terms of growth, this approach was developed.
