Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, who is both a statesman and a politician, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the process that investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas employs when he broadcasts his films.
His comment came after Anas Aremeyaw Anas showed his documentary “Galamsey Economy,” in which Charles Adu Boahen, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, played a big role.

Mr Charles Adu Boahen is alleged to have informed the undercover investigators that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia needed $200,000 as an “appearance fee” prior to meeting with the putative investors.

It was also alleged that the Minister stated that the Vice President would seek certain contracts from an investor for his siblings in order to acquire his backing and influence in starting a firm in Ghana. This was one of the statements that were reported to have been made by the minister.

Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has stated that he does not believe Anas Aremeyaw Anas is truly engaging in investigative journalism.

“I have made it quite apparent that Anas does not share my personal beliefs.”
He does not give the impression of being an investigative journalist.
“An investigative journalist does his job in such a manner that all of the points that he obtains are so crucial to him that no one ever hears about them,” he stated. “He does this so that no one ever hears about it.”

Mr. Nyaho-Tamakloe stated, in an exclusive interview with the host of JoyNews, Benjamin Akakpo, that the first and most essential thing that Anas should do is disclose his documentary to the general public.
On the other hand, according to Mr. Nyaho-Tamakloe, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, after working on this documentary, gives it out to the government first before broadcasting it to the general public.

“The first thing that he ought to do is to reveal it to the public, either in the public hall or somewhere else.”
But in this case, a certain investigative journalist makes it a point that before he publishes anything, it is shown to the government officials of the country.

According to the statesman, Anas’s most recent investigative video included both the president and his vice president, yet despite this, nothing has been done to address the issue.

“As a result of his most recent investigation, the identities of the president and the vice president were discovered. We should stop assuming that the people of this nation are idiots,” he continued. “We should stop thinking that way.”
