Seth Nii Darko, an Asante Kotoko Communications Member, has described in detail how Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley, was stabbed to death.
Nana Pooley, a communications member of the Supporters’ Group, was tragically stabbed by unknown attackers during their Matchday 19 match at Nana Kronmansah Park in Twumasikrom, which concluded 1-0 in favour of the home team.
Nii Darko revealed on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show that he is still battling to recover from the sad situation.
“It feels like my ball is missing in between my thighs because how can we take his lifeless body to the mortuary when we all left Kumasi happily,” he told me.
According to him, he cannot fathom how someone so full of life could die in such a sad way.
“Usually, Chairman Solo is the one who prays but before the bus departed from Kumasi, he offered to pray,” he told me.
Nii Darko said that when they arrived at Nsoatre, the gate was locked, and they had to wait around five minutes to enter.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko has refrained from all football activity till justice is done.
The Ghana Police Service has also detained three people in connection with Nana Pooley’s killing, including Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the owner of Nsoatreman Football Club.
IGP George Akuffo Dampare has met with the leadership of Asante Kotoko and assured them that the offenders will be held accountable.
Additionally, the Ghana Premier League’s Matchday 20 games have been postponed.
