Dennis Korsah of Hearts of Oak makes his Black Stars debut

Dennis Kodwo Nkrumah-Korsah (born February 25, 1996) is a Ghanaian footballer who currently plays left-back for Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League. He was a member of the Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs, which he captained. In June 2016, Nkrumah-Korsah began his professional career with the Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs.

 

He made his debut on June 26, 2016, in a 3–0 loss against Aduana Stars, after replacing Francis Arthur-Mensah in the 74th minute. He made six league appearances in the 2016 Ghanaian Premier League season. During the 2017 season, he established himself as the starting left-back, appearing in twenty-one league matches out of thirty, and playing a significant role in the Dwarfs’ fourth-place finish. In the 2018 season, he appeared in 14 league matches and scored one goal, his debut goal coming in an 89th-minute match against Liberty Professionals, which helped Dwarfs to a 2–1 home victory on April 15, 2018.

Due to the GFA’s demise in June 2018, as a result of the Anas Number 12 Expose, the league was abandoned halfway through. After Joseph Amoah Mensah served as a captain in 2018, Nkrumah-Korsah was appointed as the club’s captain in 2019. In his debut season as captain, he played nine games in the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition. During the 2019–20 season, he appeared in 11 league matches before the competition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana.

He was able to keep his spot on the team while captaining it by making the squad list for the 2020–21 season. In November 2020, he scored the club’s first goal of the season by converting a penalty in the first match of the season. in a 2–2 tie with rivals Elmina Sharks, by converting a penalty.

The Dwarfs’ second goal came from a free-kick by goalkeeper Razak Issah. In a 2–1 loss to Asante Kotoko on February 21, 2021, he scored a straight free-kick. On July 4, 2021, he added another goal to help Dwarfs earn a 1–1 tie. At the conclusion of the game, he was chosen as the man of the match. Despite a 2–1 victory over Bechem United on the final day of the season, Dwarfs were demoted to the Ghana Division One League due to a head-to-head record with Elmina Sharks.

He appeared in 32 league games, scoring five goals and assisting four times, finishing the season as the league’s top scorer and defender with the most goal involvements (9).
Nkrumah-Korsah graduated from the University of Cape Coast with a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
