A High Court in Sekondi withdrew the injunction against Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Amenfi Central.

The injunction had previously prevented Madam Joana Cudjoe from running in the forthcoming parliamentary election.

Today’s decision follows an earlier adjournment of the case, in which the NDC asked the court to withdraw the injunction against its candidate and dismiss the substantive disqualification.

This comes weeks after an Accra High Court dismissed an earlier application by the NDC seeking to prevent the EC from printing ballots and poll notices in support of Joana Cudjoe’s eligibility.

The current development means that the Commission can proceed with printing vote papers and logistics that include Joana Cudjoe’s name.

Following the court proceedings, Edudzi Tamakloe, the first defendant’s attorney, urged the EC to follow the court’s directive.

“We are quite delighted and wish to thank the court. The EC official was in court and is aware that the injunction has been vacated. “Now that the injunction has been lifted, Madam Jean Mensa should do the right thing,” he stated.

Following the court hearings, Joana Cudjoe expressed her satisfaction, happy that a burden had been lifted.

Joana Cudjoe also encouraged her followers to step up their campaigning efforts to ensure her win on December 7.

“I am quite grateful. I thank God and the party for stepping in to help me today. “I’m coming home, and we’re going to plan our campaign,” she remarked.
