A 38-year-old immigration officer’s partially burnt body was found five days after his family reported him missing near Abuom Junction in Kwabenya, Greater Accra.

On July 4, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the irate relatives of Steffen King Amoah, commonly known as Nana Kofi, filed a complaint with the Taifa Police after multiple attempts to contact the deceased via his cell phone were unsuccessful.

In order to meet a friend for a conversation in Ashongman Estate, also in Accra, he reportedly left his Gye Nyame House, located near Musuku Junction in Kwabenya.

According to his brother Akwasi Amoako, who verified the death to myjoyonline.com, Amoah’s body was covered with several stab wounds to the neck and chest.

It was partially burned, he claimed, because the murderers tried to set fire to the body, which was thought to have been covered in a woollen carpet, at a location on the Abuom-Abokobi road.

Based on family sources, Steffen King Amoah was inducted into the Ghana Immigration Service in 2013. The body was taken to the Police Hospital Mortuary after being identified by Amoako and other family members.

Born and raised in Kumasi’s Old Tafo area, Amoah joined the Ghana Immigration Service in 2013.

On March 28, 2018, in Tafo Nhyiaeso in Kumasi, Amoah, a well-liked employee at the Ghana Immigration Service headquarters’ Sports Department, wed his sweetheart, a policewoman.

The couple is fortunate to have a 4-year-old kid and a 5-month-old infant.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man who was identified as Amoah’s buddy was remanded into custody by a Kwabenya Circuit Court on Monday, July 8, 2025.
