Bawumia leads Mahama in latest polls by Outcomes International

Recent polls regarding the possible winner of the 2024 Presidential Election, carried out by Outcomes International, indicate that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is projected to secure the highest percentage of votes, with John Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), trailing closely behind.

The polls indicate that Dr. Bawumia is projected to receive 49.4% of the votes, whereas John Mahama is expected to secure 45.1% of the votes.

Only a small fraction of the votes, specifically 0.3%, will be distributed among the other presidential candidates, while 5.2% of the votes remain undecided.

The research took place from August to September this year, involving interviews with thousands of registered voters from various regions across the country.

“Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to secure victory in 11 out of 16 regions, whereas Mr. Mahama is projected to win in 5 regions.” The findings indicate a tightly contested race between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who stands at 49.4%, and Mr. Mahama, with 45.1%. “However, 5.2% of the respondents were undecided, while 0.3% indicated they would vote for other candidates,” the report stated.

The December 2024 Presidential Election features a competitive matchup between former President John Mahama and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Different reliable polls have, at various points, shown one leading over the other.

The most recent report indicates that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia holds a slight advantage over John Mahama, who has not been able to regain power since his defeat in 2016 and subsequent unsuccessful attempt in the 2020 elections.
