Dr. Gideon Boako, the vice president’s spokesperson, has debunked social media rumors that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia maintains British citizenship despite holding the office of vice president of Ghana.
Bawumia is not British Citizen – Gideon Boako Debunks Claims
Dr. Gideon Boako emphasized in a message on his Facebook page on Friday night that Dr. Bawumia has never held British citizenship or any other citizenship in his life.
The post stated, “The Office of the Vice President has been made aware of a malicious social media accusation that the Vice President is in violation of Ghanaian law by maintaining British citizenship while serving in the office of Vice President.
The vice president does not currently hold British citizenship and has never held British citizenship or any other citizenship other than Ghanaian citizenship, the speaker continued. The accusation has to be regarded with the disdain it merits. I’m grateful.
