Fifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a stinging attack of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, calling him the “epitome of deception” and accused him of avoiding responsibility for Ghana’s economic downfall.
In a Face to Face interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV, Kwetey questioned Dr. Bawumia’s integrity and efficacy as head of the Economic Management Team under the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
“Bawumia is the embodiment of dishonesty. This is the truth. On the fact that, at every turn, this individual was more interested in twisting than telling the truth. This is a gentleman who lacked the fortitude to admit that they mismanaged the economy. “He was the head of the Economic Management Team; it wasn’t symbolic; he was in charge,” Kwetey claimed.
He went on to accuse Dr. Bawumia of avoiding responsibility when Ghana’s economy started to fail.
“When the time came to acknowledge the difficulties, he fled, pretended he was not in charge, and claimed it wasn’t his fault. This indicates that you are not a leader but a coward,” he remarked.
Kwetey closed his remarks by questioning Dr. Bawumia’s qualifications for higher office.
“You lack a feeling of duty, you are incapable of accepting blame, and if you lack these qualities, you should not consider being a leader of any country. “You’re morally weak, he clarified.
