Bawumia is a unifying force for Muslims and Christians – Presby Moderator Rt. Rev. Prof. Mante

During a Sunday church service on August 20th, the outgoing moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Obiri Yeboah Mante, praised the religiously unifying character of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a Muslim Christian.

Mante was speaking at the conclusion of his term as moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

Rev. Professor Mante, speaking at the concluding session of the 23rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at the Ramseyer congregation at Abetifi Kwahu, stated that the people of Ghana are grateful to God for the gift of Vice President Bawumia to the nation. Bawumia is currently serving as Ghana’s vice president.

Bawumia is a unifying force for Muslims and Christians

In spite of the fact that he is a Muslim, he is able to pray alongside Christians with ease, according to what he said about the Vice President, who has shown tolerance for people of other faiths.

He related how “one day at one of our events like this, I was standing by Vice President Bawumia, and to my surprise, he sang all the lines of a hymn we were singing.” He was standing next to him when it happened.

When I asked him how he had learned all of these things, he told me that when he was younger, he had participated in the Methodist Boys’ Brigade. ” So I asked him, “So how did you learn all of them?” I do not know whether or not he was finally promoted to the rank of officer, but I believe that he is more than a Muslim. I have a strong suspicion that Vice President Bawumia is for both religion.

Many well-known people from various fields across the continent attended the 23rd General Assembly’s final session. These figures included academics, politicians, traditional rulers, and pastors from the Presbyterian Church.

During the Assembly that took place this year, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye was chosen to take over as the church’s next moderator.
