Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia donated GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to help traders rebuild their shops after the tragic fire in Adum, Kumasi.
The fire, which broke out on Friday, March 24, destroyed multiple shops and stalls in the bustling business district, costing millions of Ghana cedis.
During his visit to the scene on Tuesday, March 25, Dr. Bawumia offered his condolences to the affected traders and urged Ghanaians and private enterprises to help in their recovery.
“I am donating GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags to the victims, and I urge private individuals to also support the traders in getting their livelihoods back,” he told journalists.
