Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has stated that recent mediation attempts in the Bawku issue have resulted in a period of relative peace in the area.
The Asantehene led the peace talks between the feuding Kusasi and Mamprusi tribes, meeting with representatives from both sides between April 28 and April 30, before briefly suspending the talks.
During a meeting with the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, in the Manhyia Palace on Monday, May 12, 2025, Otumfuo stated that the mediation process would resume soon.
“We are still working on the matter, and we will meet again to discuss the difficulties. We are not finished yet. However, the little we have done has brought some peace to the area. “We will brief you and the Ghanaians soon,” he said.
