The Electoral Commission (EC) will conduct Council of State elections nationwide today, February 11, 2025.
155 individuals, including 10 women from the 16 areas, have filed nominations to run.
The election will start at 7 a.m. and terminate at 5 p.m. at the regional coordinating councils in each regional capital.
The election is not available to public voting but rather through an Electoral College composed of two delegates selected by each District Assembly.
522 individuals are anticipated to vote today.
The winners will be announced at the voting sites after the polls shut.
The 30-member Council of State advises the President, Ministers of State, Parliament, and other public institutions on responsible and accountable government.
