Akufo-Addo declares Monday, August 5 Public Holiday

According to Interior Minister Henry Quartey, President Akufo-Addo has declared Monday, August 5, 2024, as a public holiday.

The Minister notified the public that Founders’ Day, a Statutory Public Holiday, falls on Sunday, August 4, 2024.

But since August 4, 2024, is a Sunday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has declared Monday, August 5, 2024, as an additional public holiday by Executive Instrument (E.I), in compliance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601). This declaration should be observed nationwide.
