Abandoned baby found behind Shops at Zebilla market

An abandoned baby was discovered at the Zebilla Market in the Upper East Region’s Bawku West District after an unidentified mother allegedly left her behind some commercial shops.

According to eyewitness reports, a customer shopping for groceries overheard the infant sobbing behind one of the stores. Alarmed, the client swiftly notified others, resulting in the baby’s recovery.

The baby was transferred to the Zebilla District Police Station, where a formal report was made. Officers from the Bawku West District’s Social Welfare Department were called in to assist.

The newborn was then taken to the Bawku West District Hospital in Zebilla for medical care and monitoring.
