The sad occurrence took place on the evening of Saturday, August 21, 2022, and resulted in the destruction of properties with a value of thousands of cedis. According to the investigation, it is not apparent what might have been the cause of the fire.

Eyewitnesses have stated that they spotted smoke emerging from the residence as mentioned earlier at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. However, all of their calls to the Ghana National Fire Service pleading for assistance were unsuccessful.

According to what they reported, the Ghana National Fire Service officers who attended to their call stated that the agency does not have a fire tender owing to problems that have arisen over the previous several months.

According to the eyewitnesses, the fire officer explained that because they do not have a fire tender, they are unable to put out the fire with their bare hands because they cannot be there.

Meanwhile, after providing an initial reaction to the inhabitants of the area, members of the Ghana National Fire Service eventually arrived at the scene.

The locals claim that the fire might have been extinguished sooner if they had arrived sooner rather than waited for many hours before doing so, which is what actually happened.

However, the fire tender used by Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai broke down in February of this year, and ever since then, the officers have been working without any fire tender.

DO3 In an interview with Sefwinews.com, Joseph Amehere, the Western North Safety Officer for the Ghana National Fire Service, revealed that it has been tough to replace the faulty engine.

He stated that letters were delivered to offices and stakeholders in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality in an effort to assist them. Still, no one has given them a pesewa so that they may fix the vehicle.

As a result, DO3 Joseph Amehere made an appeal to the general public to assist them in replacing the defective engine, which cost sixty-seven thousand Ghana cedis (67,000).
