2 dead, three injured in building collapse at Kotokuraba’s London Bridge area

A building collapsed at London Bridge in Kotokuraba, Cape Coast, killing two persons and injuring three more.

According to eyewitness reports, five persons were inside the structure when it collapsed.

The surviving were promptly rescued from the rubble, and the injured were transported to Cape Coast’s Awim Hospital for emergency care.

The cause of the collapse is unknown, but local authorities are investigating the situation.

According to preliminary research, the structure was weak and deteriorating.

Only one part of the building gave way.

As a safety measure, officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Ghana National Fire Service are currently dismantling the remaining components of the building to avoid any future harm to life or property.
